BBU offers all members the opportunity to apply for a line of barter credit. BBU grants credit lines based upon length of membership, demand for products or services sold, and past trading volume. Please complete the application, sign, scan and email to BBU.
Fee Payments
All fee payments are due upon receipt. For our members convenience we offer credit card payments, please complete the
credit card form, sign it, and email it to
BBU. In the event your account fall behind and reaches 30 days past due, it will risk suspension of trading privileges, loss of credit line, interest charges and a $15 administrative processing fee per month.
Disputes and Complaints
On rare occasions BBU members may not be completely satisfied with services or products they purchased from other members. It is essential that every effort be made to resolve the dispute between the parties. At the request of both parties BBU may step in and assist in mediation. In the event members disagree and conclude it can not be resolved, the complaining party should take the same legal steps they would in a cash transaction.

Termination of membership
Our policy is to work closely with our members to keep them informed of the trading rules and to educate them when rules have been broken. In the event BBU determines that we have exhausted our efforts, BBU at our discretion may terminate a members account. Members of course will always be treated fairly and given ample opportunity to use any remaining Barter available in their account. Here are examples for account terminations in the past:
- Charging Part Cash
- Charging more than prevailing rates for their products and/or services
- Constant complaints from other members
- Poor quality of service or workmanship
- Failure to comply with BBU policies
- Failure to pay outstanding service fee to BBU
-
"Bait & Switch"
- Seller: When a contract is negotiated and once the work has begun the seller asks or demands cash in order to top leverage the buyer.
- Buyer: when a contract is negotiated for a purchase and the buyer agrees to cash as a way to leverage the seller, then once the work has begun refuses to compensate the seller.
Members Should Exercise the same due diligence in entering into trade transactions as ordinary business transactions for cash. BBU is a third party record keeper acting as a clearing house which debits or credits barter units generated between members. It is not an issuer of credit except as specified by the rules. BBU is not responsible for the quality, timely delivery, warranties or any other problems which arise with respect to goods and services traded by members. BBU is not responsible if the member can not find the specific products or services to buy from our members.
